Toyo Open Country At3 Vs Bfg Ko2 4runner

We ordered up a set of 35x12.50r20s and put them on our 2018 ram 2500 diesel sled hauler. Would love to hear if anyone here put them on and their experience.

Toyo’s open country at2 has excellent grip off the road. However, i've read quite a few bad reviews about the ko2. I believe they are quieter than my ko2's were, and those weren't bad at all.

At3 have a newer tread design vs k02 imo. I wanted the toyo or bfg when the lift was installed but the toyo was backordered and the ko2 wasn't available yet in the 35 in sizes. The toyo 35x12.5 is about same spec as bfg 35x12.5 but 6lbs heavier.

The only area where the ko’s might beat them is the sidewall and in mud. I know that consumer reports has the cooper at3 rated number 1 on their website for at tires and the cooper has a 55,000 mile warranty vs. Bfg with no mileage warranty.

I have read that it starts to get a lot louder over 10k miles. The toyo is ugly, the tread pattern is milder than the outgoing version, the sidewalls are too mild, they got rid of the xtreme versions, and toyo/nitto tires are notorious for being awful in wet weather. So far, i'm extremely happy with them.

Bfg ko2's or toyo open country tires? They don’t look as aggressive as the ko2’s but perform pretty well on and off road. I bought the bfg ko2's for my tahoe when they came out and its ok.

Nov 15, 2016 at 7:38 am #1 #1. Yes it's louder and a little heavier and won't handle as good as an all season highway tire like comes on the 4runner from the factory, but thats the tradeoff. I am looking at the bfg ko2 or the toyo open country at2's.

On paper, the toyo open country a/t iii is appealing to us for a few reasons. I currently am leaning towards the toyo open country r/t in 285/70/17s. The wildpeaks are another great tire.

I ran a set of toyo oc at that came on my jeep and did not like them but this was back in 2006. However, bfg at ko2 has larger tread block spacing that translates to more traction off the road. Both the bfg t/a k02 and the toyo open country atiii are solid tires, which tire is right for you depends on what you are looking for in your next tire and what conditions you drive in.

Lt285/70r17 116/113q load range c weight: Both snowflakes rated so will be great for those trips to tahoe. Ko2 look more aggressive though.

Looks like limited sizing initially but i'm sure they will have more sizes available later on. The bfg wears poorly, throws gravel like crazy, isn't good in the snow, isn't good in mud, has high rolling resistance, is expensive, etc. At3 would be my choice but e rated which they dont make in 35 and 18.ugh.only d and f in that size.

The sidewalls are a little less aggressive looking than the k02's, but still looks great!
